CLINTON -- North Duplin suffered their second defeat in a four day stretch, as they fell to Union 18-6 on Friday night.
The Rebels also lost a non-conference game on Monday against Jones Senior.
Akeem Cox led the North Duplin running game with 65 yards on 26 carries. The senior also scored the Rebels only touchdown on a one-yard plunge over the goaline.
The Rebels youth showed in the fourth quarter when a misguided punt gave Union the football inside the five yard line and led to the go-ahead score.
Sophomore quarterback Marcus Kornegay was the victim on a ferocious Spartan pass rush for most of the game. Kornegay completed five passes for 54 yards on the evening.
North Duplin (2-2 overall) will get back to a normal time schedule this week before they host Dixon on Friday.
