Tyler Flowers delivered a 10th-inning, walk-off home run as Myrtle Beach defeated Kinston 5-4 in the regular-season finale for both teams Monday evening.
The Indians led 4-2 on Carlos Rivero's three-RBI, sixth-inning home run, but couldn't keep the advantage. The Pelicans tallied runs in the eighth and ninth innings before Flowers' game-ending shot in the 10th.
Kinston concluded the year 72-65 overall, which was third-best in the Carolina League this season. The K-Tribe failed to make the playoffs for the first time since 2000.
