MOUNT OLIVE -- Adrian Daniels scored the game-winning goal in the 82nd minute and Chris Slaughter preserved the win with a dramatic save with 44 seconds left as Mount Olive defeated Catawba 2-1 in the 2008 Mount Olive College Men's Soccer Sleep Inn Classic Saturday at Amon Field.

The Trojans won both of their matches in the tournament and improved to 7-1 all-time at the Sleep Inn Classic.

Daniels, Angelo Acquah and Scott Mitchell represented Mount Olive on the All-Tournament Team.

Catawba goalkeeper Tyler Held also earned All-Tournament honors.

Mount Olive broke a scoreless tie early in the first half after Mitchell's service led to a scramble in the box. The ball deflected off a Catawba defender and Acquah headed it into the upper corner to give the Trojans a 1-0 lead at 14:25.

The goal was Acquah's second of the tournament. Mitchell tallied a goal and two assists in the tournament.

The Trojans broke the tie when Chris McClaugherty played a long service from the back to Daniels, who had just cleared the midfield line. Daniels dribbled ahead of the defense and beat the keeper with an 18-yard shot to put Mount Olive back on top.

Slaughter finished with four saves, while Ross Willard recorded two saves in the first half for Catawba.

Mitchell converted a penalty kick in the 48th minute as the Trojans turned back North Georgia 2-1 on Friday evening.

Mitchell factored into Mount Olive's first goal of the season. He kept the ball alive in the right corner and crossed the ball into the box. Matt Wallin connected on a one-touch pass to Acquah, who scored outside the post for his first collegiate goal.

Slaughter stopped a North Georgia shot in the 68th minute and finished with three saves.

Mount Olive (2-0-0 overall) visits Chowan on Wednesday.
