Kinston passed its 2007 attendance mark and hammered Lynchburg 10-1 on the historic Grainger Stadium diamond on Monday evening.
The Carolina League contest drew 1,336 fans and helped the Single A Cleveland Indians affiliate surpass last year's mark by more than 100 fans.
Carlos Santana slugged a first-inning home run and John Drennen swatted a three-RBI homer in the second inning to jumpstart the K-Tribe's offense. Drennen finished with a season-high five RBI, including a two-run hit in the sixth inning.
Kinston hurler Hector Rondon permitted three hits in a seven-inning stint. He earned his 11th win of the season.
The series continues today.
