Wayne South defeated

Wayne County South came from behind to take a 3-2 lead in the top of the seventh inning, but could not hold on as Snow Hill Post 94 rallied for a 4-3 win Monday.

Trailing by one run in the top of the seventh, the middle of the South order came alive.

Zach Grantham and Scott Holloman each singled in front of a Jordan Williams walk. Cody Richards then followed with the go-ahead RBI base hit.

Snow Hill rebounded in the bottom half of the inning and took advantage of two hit batters, a walk and a wild pitch to pick up the victory.

"They played a really solid ballgame, and we never got the big hit we needed early," said South coach Trae McKee. "We left to many guys on base, and to many in scoring position."
