Mudcats earn road shutout

Four Carolina pitchers combined for a six-hitter in a 2-0 shutout over Southern League rival Chattanooga on Thursday evening.
Daniel Barone, Jarrett Santos, Jeff Gogal and Chris Mobley helped the Mudcats keep sole possession of the Northern Division lead in second-half play. Barone got the mound win, while Mobley notched his 10th save of the season.
Josh Willingham and Cameron Maybin accounted for Carolina's runs, which came in the fourth inning.
