Mudcats defeat Lookouts

Rick Vanden Hurk tossed six scoreless innings and Chris Coghlan celebrated his birthday with four hits as Carolina thrashed Chattanooga 7-0 on Wednesday evening.
Vanden Hurk recorded nine strikeouts for his first win since April 12. Relievers Matt Yourkin and Jesus Delgado preserved the shutout.
Coghlan doubled and singled three times in five at-bats. Gaby Sanchez extended his hitting streak to a season-high 12 games.
