MOC's Vertcnik powers Swampdogs

Alex Vertcnik delivered the game-winning single as Fayetteville edged Wilson 6-5 in an 11-inning, Coastal Plain League contest on the historic Fleming Stadium diamond on Wednesday evening.
Vertcnik batted 2-for-2 with four RBI and drew four walks in six plate appearances. The outfielder was making his SwampDogs debut after helping Mount Olive win the NCAA Division II College World Series title.
Wilson has not beaten Fayetteville in two years, including a playoff loss in 2007.
