CLEMMONS -- Former Charles B. Aycock standout Ryan Campbell finished 15th overall during the 2008 Conference Carolinas men's golf tournament, which concluded Tuesday.

A first-year player for Mount Olive, Campbell fashioned a 54-hole total of 149, which included a final-round score of 73. He helped the Trojans place seventh overall in the 10-team field with a three-day score of 911.

Mick Moberg complemented Campbell with a 226, good enough for an 18th-place tie. Teammates Johan Hagsund (229) and Jonathan Greene (234) wound up tied for 25th and 32nd, respectively. Moberg and Hagsund were tied for second at 1-under after Sunday's opening round.

Belmont Abbey edged Barton by two strokes for the team title. Five strokes separated the top four teams.

Mount Olive entered the tournament ranked No. 6 in the Atlantic Region and hopes it will receive its third consecutive bid to the NCAA Division II Atlantic/Southeast Super Regional. The three-day regional is May 5-7 at Point Lake Golf Club in Belmont.

On the women's side, the Trojans carded their lowest team score in the final round, but settled for sixth place with a 1,075.

Kristin Moberg (255) jumped seven spots and finished tied for 11th in the 54-hole event. Senior Kristen Freeman (262) tied for 16th in her final collegiate tournament, while Deborah Woodrum (275) carded her lowest 18-hole score of the year (85) on Tuesday.

Brooke Newell and Lindsey Becker took 24th and 25th, respectively.

Pfeiffer emerged the team champion.
