MOUNT OLIVE -- Mount Olive pitcher Ryan Schlecht, who leads the nation in wins, has been named the Conference Carolinas pitcher of the week for the third time this season.
Schlecht collected his school-record 10th mound win during a 9-2 decision over No. 14-ranked Erskine (S.C.) last week. He allowed two runs on four hits in a seven-inning stint and benefited from two double-play balls in the early stages of the game.
Schlecht held the Flying Fleet scoreless through six innings.
With the victory, Mount Olive (37-4 overall) clinched the No. 1 seed for next week's Conference Carolinas tournament. The Trojans conclude regular-season conference play at home this weekend against Belmont Abbey. Saturday's doubleheader begins at 3 p.m.
