MOUNT OLIVE -- Mount Olive remained unbeaten on the Conference Carolinas softball scene with a doubleheader sweep of in-state rival St. Andrews on Sunday afternoon.

Catcher Bailey Harrell collected two RBI as the Trojans claimed the opener 9-2. Junior right-hander Jenny Jackson recorded her third consecutive shutout, a 4-0 decision in the nightcap.

Mount Olive (14-9 overall) has won five of its last six outings and is 4-0 against league opposition this season. St. Andrews (5-22) dropped to 2-6 in conference play.

The Trojans took a quick 2-0 lead in game one as Kelly Minshew and Kat Cahoon cranked out back-to-back doubles in the first inning. Cahoon scored when Jackson reached on a fielder's choice.

Minshew led off the third inning with her second double of the game, moved to third on Cahoon's sacrifice and scored on a single by Harrell. Wallace singled home Harrell to extend the Trojans' lead to 4-0.

St. Andrews never threatened as Mount Olive starter Anna Turvin (5-5) scattered eight hits and retired the side in order in the final inning.

In the nightcap, the Trojans gave Jackson (9-4) working room with runs in the second, third and sixth innings.

Jackson carried a two-hitter into the sixth before running into trouble. Morgan Whaley made a diving catch in center field and doubled up Stewart on second base to end in the inning.

The Knights put runners aboard again in the seventh. However, freshman Jazzmine Lee made a running catch near the right-field line and gunned a down a runner at third base. Jackson closed out the game with a groundout.

Mount Olive plays host to Pace (N.Y.) College on Tuesday. First pitch is 4 p.m. on the Nancy Chapman Cassell Field diamond.
