Playing its second game in as many nights, Wayne Country Day eased past visiting Harrells Academy 81-58 on Wednesday.

Floronta Wynn poured in 24 points, Reco McCarter tacked on 14 and Tim Hobbs added 10. Wayne Country Day (19-5 overall) hosts Kerr-Vance on Tuesday for Senior Night.

Girls

Harrells Academy became Wayne Country Day's 10 straight victim as the Chargers earned a 46-38 win on Wednesday.

Catherine Ford finished with 18 points and Bridgette Briggs had 15. Lindsey English led Harrells with 18.

Since starting the season 2-7, the Chargers (12-7) have won their last 10 ballgames and will host Kerr-Vance on Tuesday with first place in the conference on the line.

Junior varsity

* Wayne Country Day boys 65, Harrells 34 -- The Chargers (17-1, 5-0 CPIC) were led by Stoan Stewart's 19 points. Cameron Ford contributed 12 points and Johnny Galman and Hil Tanner scored 10 points each.

Middle schools

* Spring Creek girls 37, Rosewood 22 -- Janna Price scored nine points to lead Spring Creek and Kaitlyn Casey pitched in eight. Logan Bill had six points for Rosewood. Spring Creek travels to Mount Olive on Monday.

* St. Peters boys 33, Wayne Christian 18 -- Chase Darden supplied seven points for the Eagles (12-4, 3-2 CC) and Chandler Harrell and Jeremiah Wright each scored four. Harrell pulled down 14 rebounds. Wayne Christian hosts Saint Mary's on Friday.

* Spring Creek boys 44, Rosewood 40 -- Adam Haggerty led Spring Creek with 12 points and Kyle Merritt and Damerian Henderson each had eight. Rosewood's Nathan Huyser led all scorers with 16 points. Spring Creek (6-6, 2-4) visits Mount Olive on Monday.
