MOUNT OLIVE -- Mike Carroll and Osvaldo Perez established career highs of 13 kills apiece as the Mount Olive College men's volleyball team swept Eastern Mennonite (Va.) 31-29, 30-22, 31-29 on Saturday afternoon at Kornegay Arena.

Perez finished off EMU in game one with a kill.

The Trojans (2-2 overall) took game two on an EMU unforced error and trailed most of game three before Jose Lanier found a rhythm offensively. He provided six of his 11 kills as Mount Olive fended off two match points to force a 29-29 tie.

Senior Zach Wilson finished off the upset with a solo block on match point. He concluded the contest with a season-high 50 assists.

Kris Suarez led the defense with nine digs.

EMU entered the three-team, round-robin event ranked No. 10 in the CSTV/AVCA Division III men's top 15 poll.

GAFFNEY, S.C. -- Division I transfer Lakeisha Monroe tallied 11 of her game-high 17 points in the second half as Mount Olive College defeated Conference Carolinas foe Limestone (S.C.) 60-49 on Saturday evening.

Despite losing a second-half, double-digit advantage, the Trojans (8-7 overall, 6-2 CC) claimed their third consecutive win. Helen Moore picked the Saints for a career-best seven steals as Mount Olive forced 34 turnovers.

Tied at 45-45 with 5:47 remaining, the Trojans held Limestone without a field goal for five-plus minutes. Monroe's basket broke the tie and Moore's fast-break layup off Alisa Jones' blocked shot made it a four-point game.

Brittney Robich added two free throws with 45 seconds left to make it a three-possession game. Tomeka Prichard finished with 12 points, while Keona Corley pulled down six rebounds.
