SNOW HILL -- Danny Moye poured in 23 points and pulled down 15 rebounds to help guide Greene Central past Charles B. Aycock 68-50 on Tuesday evening.

William Brown finished with 11 points and 13 rebounds for the Rams.

Khendra Reid and Jonathan Williams each scored 12 points for the Golden Falcons.

Greene Central (2-6 overall) visits Kinston on Friday, while C.B. Aycock entertains Clayton on Dec. 20.

Dawgs edge Wildcats

NEWTON GROVE -- Ryan Daughtry's basket with 10 seconds remaining put Princeton ahead for the first time all game, and the Bulldogs held on for a 53-49 win at Hobbton on Tuesday night.

Daughtry finished with 15 points, including 12 in the fourth quarter. Josh Barefoot led Princeton (7-1) with 19 points and Will Gainey and Chris Hinton each had five.

Ross Carter led Hobbton with 13 points.

The Bulldogs visit Union tonight.

Eagles stumble

LOUISBURG -- Rosewood dropped to 2-3 on the season with a 57-31 loss at Louisburg on Tuesday.

Stephen McIntyre scored a team-high 11 points for the Eagles and Sean Corman had 10.

Rosewood (2-3 overall) plays host to Hobbton today.

WCS rolls on the road

HENDERSON -- Wayne Christian School routed Crossroads Christian 67-37 on Tuesday.

Mount Olive College signee Eric Williams finished with a double-double 28 points and 13 rebounds, to go along with seven blocks and six assists.

Adam Brannan scored 12 points and had four assists and three rebounds. Shea Glaesman had nine points and five rebounds and Colton Wood tallied nine points and 11 rebounds.

Tyler McGhee led Crossroads with 17 points.

Wayne Christian (4-5, 1-2 CCC) hosts Carolina Christian 1-A Conference foe Northwood Temple on Friday.

Conquerors prevail

FAYETTEVILLE -- Three players scored in double figures and Faith Christian strolled to 79-41 win at N.C. Christian Schools Association 2-A Coastal rival Berean Christian on Tuesday night.

Taylor Stocks led the charge for the Conquerors with 21 points and Brad Floars had 21. Jeremy Sandlin scored 17 points.

Faith Christian (5-3 overall) entertains Cornerstone Baptist on Friday.

Girls basketball

GC earns first win

SNOW HILL -- Greene Central picked up its first win of the season with a 54-42 defeat of Charles B. Aycock on Tuesday.

Darneka Waters paced the Rams (1-7 overall) with 15 points and 17 rebounds. Shonice Pettaway finished with 13 points. Dominique Graham had 11 and Jocelyn Conner added eight.

Chantel Gaines finished with a game-high 25 points for the Golden Falcons.

Greene Central travels to Kinston on Friday, while Aycock (1-8) faces Clayton at home on Dec. 20.

Eagles come up short

HENDERSON -- Points were hard to come by for Wayne Christian on Tuesday evening as the Eagles fell at Crossroads Christian 49-28.

Hope Wright was the only player to score in double figures for Wayne Christian with 12 points. Hanna Kaler chipped in six points and Jennifer Price and Brittany Sullivan each had five.

The Eagles (4-5 overall, 1-1 CCC) welcome Northwood Temple on Friday.

Gators go down

MIDWAY -- Trailing by just one point at halftime, foul trouble and a failure to maintain its level of intensity over the final two quarters caught up with Spring Creek in a 44-31 loss at Midway on Tuesday.

"We played well in the first half," Spring Creek coach Amanda Ramfjord said. "We played together as a team and we played good defense. We didn't execute well on offense or defense in the second half. We lost our focus and didn't make any easy shots under the basket."

Melanique DeVeaux scored a team-high 12 points for the Gators to go with seven rebounds. Tasha Whitfield contributed five points and eight rebounds. Richelle Butler and Maura Phipps each had five points and five rebounds.

Jasmine Rich scored 11 points for Midway.

Spring Creek (1-4 overall) goes to Union on Friday.

9th grade

* Goldsboro boys 70, Eastern Wayne 66 -- Adam Hobbs scored a game-high 22 points for the Cougars (6-1 overall). Michael Sykes finished with 16 and Michael Sawyer added 15. Xavier Branch and Rashawn Barnes each scored 15 points for the Warriors and Brandon Williams had 12.

Middle schools

* Wayne Christian School boys 42, Bethel Christian Academy 28 -- Chase Darden led the Eagles with 17 points and Josiah Davis added eight points and 14 rebounds. Wayne Christian (7-0 overall, 3-0 CCC) entertains Faith of Rocky Mount on Thursday.
