WENDELL -- Faith Christian's girls fell in the championship game of the Southeastern Tournament 58-17 to Cramerton Christian Academy on Saturday.

Faith (1-1 overall) was led by Alyssa Hill, who finished with eight points, and 11 rebounds. Hill was also named to the all-tournament team.

Lindsey Godwin finished with four points for the Conquerors and Madison Caudle and Renee Provencal each scored two points. Cramerton was led by Sarah Livingston who had 14 points.

Faith was awarded the Sportsmanship Award for their efforts in the tournament.

On Friday evening, the Conquerors defeated Hilltop Christian 47-37.

Hill led the way offensively, with 16 points and 17 rebounds, nine of which were on the offensive end.. Godwin chipped in 13 points, and Caudle had 10 points and eight rebounds.

Faith overcame a 23-17 halftime deficit, and used a 3-2 zone defense in the second half to shutdown Hilltop's outside shooting.

The Conquerors begin North Carolina Christian Schools Athletic Association Coastal Region 2-A Conference play on Nov. 26th against Berean Christian.

WCS falls in finals

Wayne Christian's girls fell in the finals of the Wayne Christian Invitational Tournament 40-30 to Cresset Christian on Saturday night.

Charity Wright led the Eagles with 10 points, and Hanna Kaler added six points. Hope Wright and Kaitlyn Kosuda each had four points. Kaler and Charity Wright were both named to the All-Tournament team.

On Friday evening, the Eagles defeated Grace Christian of Raleigh 40-36.

Kaler finished with a team-high 16 points. Hope Wright, Charity Wright and Kosuda each scored six points. Kayla Kennedy added four points.

Wayne Christian (2-1 overall) hosts Faith Christian of Rocky Mount on Tuesday.

Boys basketball

Eagles stumble

Wayne Christian came up short against Cresset Christian in the finals of the Wayne Christian Invitational Tournament on Saturday night, falling 60-57.

The Eagles (1-2 overall) attempted three 3-point shots in the final 13 seconds, but couldn't get one to go down.

Eric Williams led Wayne Christian with 22 points, 19 rebounds, five steals and five blocks. Shea Glaesman finished with 14 points, eight rebounds and four blocks. Matt Davis added 13 points and three rebounds.

The Eagles were hurt by turnovers, committing 14 in the first quarter, and 34 for the game.

On Friday night, Wayne Christian defeated Grace Christian of Raleigh 47-32.

Adam Brannan finished with a team-high 16 points, to go with five assists and five steals. Williams added 11 points, 18 rebounds and seven blocks. Glaesman tallied eight points and eight rebounds. Both Williams and Davis were all-tournament team selections.

Wayne Christian hosts Faith Christian of Rocky Mount on Tuesday.
