SPIVEY'S CORNER -- State-ranked and unbeaten James Kenan scored in every quarter during its 37-14 romp over fellow Class 1-A Super Six Conference member Midway on Friday evening at Walter J. Ragan Field.

The Tigers (8-0 overall, 2-0 Super Six) upended their 19th consecutive opponent in regular-season play. They've won seven straight Super Six contests and 11 of 12 games overall in league play since 2005.

Brandon Satchell emerged the game's top rusher with 137 yards and three touchdowns on 13 carries. He scored on runs of 2, 28 and 62 yards as the Tigers piled up 275 yards as a team on just 22 totes.

Stedman Mathis added an 81-yard, second-quarter touchdown. Shawn Jones threw a 5-yard, third-quarter scoring strike to Josh Dixon.

James Kenan added a 28-yard field goal in the final period.

Midway quarterback Garrett Knowles threw touchdown passes of 11 and 32 yards in the first and fourth quarters, respectively.

The Tigers, ranked No. 2 in the Associated Press 1-A prep poll, continue play next Friday at Hobbton. Game time is 7:30 p.m. in Newton Grove.
