MOUNT OLIVE -- Gina Dos Santos recorded her third collegiate hat trick (three goals) as Mount Olive College shelled Southern Virginia 8-0 on Wednesday at Amon Field.

Dos Santos, who is tied for 23rd nationally in assists per game, also collected her career-high ninth assist of the season. She scored in the 34th, 46th and 71st minutes.

Teammates Lyndsay Brennan, Jackie Jimenez and Kate Painter each provided a goal and two assists in the non-conference match. Emily Escolas and Lauren Condon posted one goal apiece.

Condon supplied her first collegiate goal after Mount Olive (5-6-2 overall) claimed a 2-0 lead behind Brennan and Jimenez. Condon received a pass from Painter in the box and connected on a wide-open shot on goal.

Trojan men blanked

AIKEN, S.C. -- Goalkeeper Chase Smith kept Mount Olive within striking distance by stopping two penalty kicks, but USC Aiken converted a third PK attempt in the 88th minute and prevailed 2-0 over regionally-ranked Mount Olive College.

The loss snapped the Trojans' three-match win streak.

USCA claimed a 1-0 lead on Kofi Akyere's goal in the 30th minute and kept that advantage beyond halftime.

Mount Olive narrowly missed tying the match early in the second half. The Trojans (6-7-0 overall) captured a loose ball at midfield, but Drew Toler's shot was blocked by Pacer goalkeeper Leonel Medina. Toler collected the rebound, but a USC Aiken defender cleared his shot from the box.

Smith (three saves) couldn't stop the Pacers' third PK -- an insurance goal by Durrell Johnson in the 88th minute.
