Greene Central escapes North Pitt

SNOW HILL -- Quarterback William Brown ran for 118 yards and two touchdowns to give Greene Central a 13-6 win over North Pitt.
The Rams successfully opened 2-A Eastern Plains Conference play and improved their overall record to 5-2.
Brown also had success through the air, throwing for 147 yards -- 91 of which went to wide receiver Curtis Braswell.
Brown opened the scoring in the first quarter when he scored from 17 yards out. Abel Real's extra point gave the Rams an early 7-0 lead.
The game would stay 7-0 until the third quarter when Brown found the end zone again, running it 7 yards for the touchdown.
North Pitt was able to tack on a late touchdown in the fourth quarter, but would get no closer thanks to the Greene Central defense.
Danny Moye led the Rams' defensive unit with 15 tackles. Daron Tripp added nine while Eric Johnson had eight. Curtis Braswell and Tyrell Lane both picked off passes for Greene Central.
Greene Central will next travel to Goldsboro Friday.
