The K-Tribe went 1-for-2 on the day by beating Wilmington 4-0, before losing to the Blue Rocks 3-1 in the night cap.

The K-Tribe had unbelievable pitching in both games, giving up just three hits to Wilmington in 15 innings of play.

In game one -- a continuation of a suspended game from Friday night -- Kinston's pitching staff stifled Wilmington with a one-hit shutout.

Steven Wright, Ryan Edell and Matt Meyer combined for the gem; striking out 13 Blue Rock batters.

Edell (10-5) came out of the pen for his tenth win of the season when play resumed this afternoon and is now tied for the second most wins in the Carolina League.

Meyer picked up his third save of the season, not giving up a hit through three innings.

Kinston scored all the runs it needed in the top of the fourth inning with three-straight RBI hits from Stephen Head, Wes Hodges and John Drennen.

Nathan Panther added a solo home run, his tenth of the season, in the fifth inning.

In game two, Kinston starter Frank Herrmann (7-5) pitched a complete game two hitter, but lost 3-1.

Herrmann went six innings, giving up two hits, one earned run and striking out four. Kinston scored its only run of the game on an RBI single by John Drennen in the sixth inning, driving in Matt Whitney.

Kinston out hit the Blue Rocks 7-2 in game number two.

The final game of the four game series takes place today at 1:35 p.m. Kinston's Jim Deters will take the mound against Wilmington's Rowdy Hardy.

Kinston will then return home to kick off a six-game home stand beginning on Monday.
