Dixon wins eighth straight from K-Tribe

WOODBRIDGE, Va. -- Kevin Dixon won his eighth consecutive start, a feat not accomplished in the Carolina League in over five years, as Kinston beat Potomac 12-2 Wednesday night.

Dixon went 61/3 innings, giving up five hits and two earned runs while striking out five. He improves to 10-3 on the season with a 3.88 ERA.

Dixon stood just 1-3 after a loss to Frederick on May 7, but has not lost since.

The K-Tribe bats pounded out twelve runs on sixteen hits Wednesday night, with six batters collecting multiple hits.

Up 3-0 in the top of the third inning, Nathan Panther blew the game open with a bases loaded double, scoring three runs and putting Kinston up 6-0.

The K-Tribe would rub salt in the wound in the sixth inning, tying a season high by sending 12 batters to the plate and collecting six hits while scoring six runs to pull ahead 12-1.

Stephen Head finished 3-for-4 with two RBI on the night.

The K-Tribe is now 18-12 in the second half (63-36 overall), is alone in first place in the Carolina League Southern Division. They will take on Northern Division leader Wilmington for four games starting tonight in Delaware with Sung-Wei Tseng on the mound.
