KINSTON -- Mike Butia smacked a two-out, two-RBI single as Kinston rallied past Frederick 9-3 on Sunday afternoon at historic Grainger Stadium.

Butia's game-winning hit highlighted a four-run, fifth-inning uprising that started with Josh Rodriguez's infield single. Max Ramirez was hit by a pitch and Rodriguez trotted home on John Drennen's game-tying single.

Nathan Panther singled to load the bases and set the table for Butia, who tallied three RBI on the night. Jerad Head closed the inning with an RBI single to make it 6-3.

Ramirez, Drennen and Butia each supplied RBI hits in the sixth. Drennen finished 2-for-4 with three RBI, while Ramirez batted 2-for-2 with two walks.

Kinston reliever Chris Niesel (2-0) threw three innings behind starter Steve Wright, who allowed three earned runs on three hits in four innings. Neil Wagner cleaned up the final two innings for the K-Tribe.

Brandon Erbe (6-5) took the loss for Frederick.

The K-Tribe begins a week-long, two-city roadswing today at Potomac. Frank Herrmann will start on the mound.
