ZEBULON -- Tennessee right-hander Justin Berg scattered six hits in seven-plus innings and the Smokies cruised past Carolina 4-1 on the Five County Stadium diamond Sunday afternoon.

Berg allowed three base runners in seven innings and collected his fourth win of the season.

Carolina loaded the bases in the eighth inning with one out. Rocky Rocquet replaced Berg and yielded a single run off Eric Riggs' single, which ended the Mudcats' 0-for-33 drought with runners in scoring position. Roquet eventually notched his first save in Southern League play.

Tennessee (40-34, 5-2 second half) kept a two-run advantage until the eighth. Matt Craig's two-run home run forged a 2-2 tie for the Mudcats, who remained winless in seven second-half outings and are 28-48 overall.

Mudcats hurler Gaby Hernandez (3-7) threw seven strong innings in the loss.
