TARBORO -- Snow Hill Post 94 cranked out three home runs and cruised past Edgecombe County 15-7 in an Area I East non-division contest Friday evening at Municipal Stadium.

Justin Bagley (2-for-6), Hunter Chase (4-for-6) and Taylor Sutton (2-for-5) each homered for Snow Hill, which improved to 8-1 overall. Edgecombe County dropped to 1-12 and is scheduled to host North Division opponent Edenton today.

Bagley scored twice and drove in three runs, while Chase contributed two doubles and three RBI. Sutton doubled, scored twice and plated two runs.

Tyler Chase doubled twice in a 2-for-4, one-RBI effort. Drew Sowers and Michael Speedy contributed two hits and an RBI apiece.

Snow Hill right-hander Bud Robertson emerged the winning pitcher. He allowed five earned runs on nine hits and fanned nine Post 316 batters in a six-inning stint. Robert Tyndall supplied two innings of four-strikeout relief and Bagley threw the ninth.

Post 316 hurler Dave Davis took the pitching loss.

E. Wayne sweeps Rosewood

Miranda Smith started and Morgan Smith finished each contest on the mound as Eastern Wayne swept Rosewood 8-4 and 7-2 in 18U action.

Caitlin Thomas led Eastern Wayne with four hits and three RBI in six at-bats. Carrie Adams contributed four hits, while Lindsey Frederick pounded out two hits.

Jessica Price paced Rosewood with four hits.

Eastern Wayne entertains Pitt County on Monday.

Golf

Lane Tree Ladies Association

Betsy Clark claimed game-of-the-week honors during weekly play at Lane Tree Golf Course. Libby Newsome won low net, while Betty Jean Gurley prevailed in low putts.

Walnut Creek Ladies Association

Mary Morris emerged victorious during play-of-the-day competition on the Walnut Creek Country Club links. Faye Franklin (low gross), Judy Payne (low net) and Gaye Bryant (low putts) also turned in good rounds.
