YEATESVILLE -- Adam Brannan swung the bat and thew well in leading Snow Hill Post 94 to a 6-2 win over Junior American Legion baseball rival Beaufort Post 15 on Tuesday night.
Brannan finished 2-for-2 with a double and RBI at the plate. On the mound, he limited Post 15 to two runs in a seven-inning stint. The Wayne Christian standout notched five strikeouts and scattered three hits.
Will Davis added two hits and two RBI, while Justin Everett had two hits and an RBI for Snow Hill
Snow Hill (5-4 overall) travels to Nash County on Thursday.
Dixie Youth Majors
Wayne County Falcons 5, Rosewood Athletics 2 -- The Wayne County Falcons defeated the host Rosewood Athletics on Tuesday evening to claim the Dixie Youth Majors Tournament Championship. Pitchers Jared Rozzi and Brett Bartlett combined for seven strikeouts, while Rozzi and K.J. Reavers led the Falcons with two hits apiece. Rosewood's Dee Mabry struck out 10 Wayne County batters in the loss. The Falcons earned both the regular-season and tournament titles, and lost just one game during the year.
Rosewood Athletics 9, Wayne Country Day 5 -- The Rosewood A's beat Wayne Country Day on Monday night to advance to the tournament finals. Brice Matthews, Dee Mabry and Jonathon Cherry had two hits a piece For the Athletics. Cherry and Andrew Henn combined to pitch five solid innings.
