KINSTON -- Wilmington right-hander Rowdy Hardy yielded two hits in an eight-inning stint as the Blue Rocks turned back Kinston 4-1 at historic Grainger Stadium.

Hardy (6-0) held the K-Tribe hitless after the first inning and retired the final 16 batters he faced. Jose Constanza and Chris De La Cruz each singled against Hardy, and Constanza scored on a double-play grounder.

The Blue Rocks gave Hardy all the support he needed in the fourth inning. Wilver Perez and Mario Lisson each doubled. Brian McFall plated Perez with a sacrifice fly and Lisson touched the plate on Miguel Vega's RBI groundout.

Kinston tried to rally after Hardy left the game. Wilmington reliever Justin Barnes issued two ninth-inning walks and a single. However, he struck out Stephen Head to end the game.

K-Tribe starter Sung-Wei Tseng (0-5) took the loss going six innings, giving up six hits and three earned runs. Jim Deters came in for the final three innings for Kinston, giving up one earned run on four hits.

The teams concluded the three-game series at 11 this morning.
