Games will be played today at Grainger

KINSTON -- Despite a late Wednesday night rain, play is expected to begin today in the 2007 NCAA Division II South Atlantic Regional at Grainger Stadium.

Third-seeded Georgia College & State University (44-13) started the proceedings at 11 this morning with a contest against Peach Belt rival Armstrong Atlantic State (39-21).

Second-seeded Columbus State (43-17) faces fifth-seeded South Carolina-Aiken (38-22) at 4 p.m. Top-seeded and regional host Mount Olive (46-11) opposes sixth-seeded Virginia State University (22-31) in the day's final contest at 7 p.m.

The double-elimination tournament continues through Sunday with the winner advancing to the College World Series in Montgomery, Ala., next week.

Admission is $10 daily for adults and $5 for students with proper identification. A four-day, all-session pass is also available -- $35 for adults and $15 for students.
