PIKEVILLE -- Junior left-hander Emily Jordan tossed a one-hitter and Charles B. Aycock added another regular-season title to an over-crowded trophy case in the gymnasium lobby Tuesday evening.

Jordan faced two batters over the minimum for a seven-inning game and recorded eight strikeouts in a 7-0 decision over Eastern Wayne. The Golden Falcons (16-5 overall) earned a share of their fifth consecutive Class 3-A Eastern Carolina Conference championship.

C.B. Aycock carries a 9-0 ledger into Friday's regular-season home finale against county foe Southern Wayne. Weather permitting, first pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Freshman Allison Sutton provided the Warriors' lone hit, a deflection off Jordan. Jordan (8-1) also yielded a walk, but the Golden Falcons eventually posted their fourth consecutive shutout of the season.

"That was a great job by Emily," said C.B. Aycock head coach David West, whose teams have won 58 of their last 61 ECC regular-season contests since 2003. "I thought our defense played great and our offense, we really banged the ball tonight."

Leigh Smith emerged the Golden Falcons' offensive leader with three hits and an RBI in three at-bats. Julia Lancaster slapped a second-inning home run and finished the night 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Jordan, Jazzmine Lee, Shelly Lancaster (two RBI), Leiren Tillman, Stevie Savage and Yolanda Pitt (RBI) contributed one hit apiece. Lead-off batter Brittany Ford drove in one run.

Eastern Wayne exited 1-15 overall and 1-8 in ECC play.
