Goldsboro High senior Daquan Joyner collected another postseason accolade and will play at least one more prep game this summer.
Joyner earned a spot on the NCPreps.com Class 2-A all-state squad and has been selected to play in the N.C. Coaches Association East-West All-Star game in mid-July.
"It's quite an honor for Daquan, our program and our community," said sixth-year GHS men's basketball coach Randy Jordan. "We're extremely proud and happy for him."
According to NCCA records, Joyner is the first Cougar basketball athlete to don an East all-star uniform since Angelo Maddox in 1999. An East Carolina signee, Joyner concluded his prep career with 1,000-plus points and helped Goldsboro advance to the N.C. High School Athletic Association sectional semifinals.
