Mount Olive tennis spilts matches

Nationally 38th-ranked Mount Olive defeated Methodist 8-1 and fell to Division I Coastal Carolina 7-0 as the Trojans opened their 2007 spring men's tennis season Saturday at Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Junior Guillherme posted a straight set win against Methodist at No. 1 singles and four Trojans picked up their first singles and doubles wins for Mount Olive (1-1).
Mount Olive returns to action Tuesday as the Trojans travel up the road to Wilson to take on Barton in men's and women's tennis action. The matches will not count towards the Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference standings. Match time is 3 p.m.
