FAYETTEVILLE -- Faith Christian's Brooke Anderson had eight digs, three kills and two blocks in the Conquerors 17-25, 15-25, 25-23, 25-22, 15-11 win at Liberty-Fayetteville on Friday.

Kaitlyn Floors added eight kills and four digs for Faith (3-3, 3-1), while Renee Provencial dished out 29 assists and had six digs.

The Conquerors host Mount Calvary on Monday.

Gators nab

first league win

SEVEN SPRINGS -- Spring Creek's Tasha Whitfield posted 14 kills and four blocks as the Gators claimed a 22-25, 25-19, 25-19, 23-25, 15-6 win at home over North Johnston on Thursday.

Brooke Alberston dished out 18 assists for Spring Creek (3-6, 1-3 Carolina), while Jordan Coor had eight aces and six kills and Shaquita Brooks had seven kills and seven blocks.

The Gators travel to North Duplin on Tuesday.

Bulldogs claim

AYDEN -- Princeton's Stephanie Daughtry tallied 12 digs, nine kills and three aces in the Bulldogs' 25-20, 23-25, 28-26, 25-20 win at Ayden-Grifton on Tuesday in Class 1-A Carolina Conference action.

The Bulldogs (12-2 overall) improved to 4-0 in league play heading into Tuesday's first-place showdown at home against Rosewood, which is also unbeaten in league play.

Cynthia Peedin added seven kills, three digs and three blocks for Princeton, while Sarah Gibbs had six kills and five aces and Brittany Davis dished out 30 assists.

Ridgecroft

AHOSKIE -- Joseph Cha and Sam Steed scored one goal each as Wayne Country Day edged Ahoskie Ridgecroft 3-2 in Coastal Plains Independent 1-A/2-A play on Friday.

WCDS tacked on an own goal as the Chargers (8-3 overall) improved to 1-1 in league play heading into Thursday's contest at Kerr-Vance.

WCDS finished with 23 shots on goal. Chargers' goalie Brandon Davis stopped four shots.

Eagles topple

North Johnston

Rosewood improved to 6-0 in Class 1-A Carolina/Super Six play with an 8-1 win over North Johnston on Thursday.

Sidney Worrell, Missy Bailey, Erica Nichols, Jamie Andrews, Jillian Casey and Karli Beasley claimed singles wins for the Eagles (6-2 overall), while the doubles teams of Nichols-Bailey and Beasley-Casey finished off the win.

Rosewood hosts Wallace-Rose Hill on Monday in league play.

SNOW HILL -- Wilmington Hoggard slipped past Greene Central 5-4 on Friday at the Snow Hill Tennis Complex.

Ashley Grant, Grayson Daniell and Casey Perry claimed singles wins for the Rams, while the doubles tandem of Grant-Daniell also picked up a victory.

Greene Central (5-2) travels to Greenfield School on Monday.

Jordan Coor added eight assists and five kills for Spring Creek (1-8, 0-4 Carolina), which travels to North Duplin on Tuesday.

Middle school football

Eastern Wayne 40, Mount Olive 6 -- Jonathan Midgette rushed for 110 yards and one touchdown, while Jonathan Carter, Ricky Bell and Lamar Best also rushed for a score. Best returned two punts for touchdowns with runs of 40 and 60 as teammate Tim Midgette had a 25-yard punt return for a touchdown. Jamal Broadie, Jalin Barnes and Theo Cox paced the Warriors' defense. Eastern Wayne (3-0) hosts Dillard on Thursday.
