Wayne Christian improved to 4-0-1 in Carolina Christian 1-A Conference play with an 8-1 win at home over Johnston Christian on Friday.
Matt Davis, Adam Brannan and John Thomas Norris scored two goals each for the Eagles (6-5-1 overall), while Eric Williams and Brian Alexander added one goal each.
Wayne Christian travels to Trinity Christian of Raleigh on Tuesday.
Hawg Breath
Bass Club
The Hawg Breath Bass Club held its monthly tournament on Sept. 16 on the Chowan River.
The team of Bernie Leeson and John Walsh won first place, while Walsh also captured big fish honors. The team of Keith Gunnells and Mike Norwood came in second just a few ounces behind.
The next tournament will be on the Pamlico River on Oct. 14.
