PIKEVILLE -- Charles B. Aycock's Jorge Delgado notched his third hat trick of the season and dished out two assists in the Golden Falcons' 8-2 win at home over North Lenoir on Wednesday.

Carson Sasser added two goals and one assist for Aycock, which improved to 5-1-1 overall.

Rich Holder, Alex Rodriguez and C.P. Cranford contributed one goal each for the Falcons, while Holder, Gavin Forrest and Brandon Nelson posted one assist each. Aycock outshot the Hawks, 28-4.

The Falcons' Jared Kennedy had five saves in goal.

Aycock opens defense of its Class 3-A Eastern Carolina Conference crown on Monday at home against Beddingfield.

Eagles double up

Southern Wayne

DUDLEY -- Rosewood's Elliott Lee scored two goals in the second half -- including one on a penalty kick -- as the Eagles claimed a 4-2 win at Southern Wayne on Wednesday in non-conference play.

Goss Kendall added one goal and one assist for Rosewood (2-0-1), while Josh Davis scored once.

Carlos Zometa and David Zometa scored once each for Southern Wayne (0-2) with both goals coming on penalty kicks.

Will Grantham had eight saves in goal for the Eagles, who host North Lenoir today at 5 p.m.

sweeps Comets

CLAYTON -- Charles B. Aycock's Amy Fryt registered eight kills in the Golden Falcons' 25-19, 25-21, 26-24 win at Clayton on Wednesday in non-conference action.

Shelly Lancaster added seven kills for Aycock (5-2), while Julia Lancaster served up six aces.

The Falcons will take an 0-1 mark in Class 3-A Eastern Carolina Conference play into today's match at Kinston.

Tigers top

'Dogs in four

WARSAW -- James Kenan's Hannah Adams and Lauren Houston finished with three kills each in the Tigers' 25-19, 25-15, 21-25, 27-25 win at home over Wallace-Rose Hill on Tuesday.

The win improved Kenan to 4-2 overall and 1-0 in Class 1-A Super-Six Conference play.

The Tigers host Hobbton today.

WARSAW -- James Kenan dropped the first set, 18-25, but rallied to defeat Wallace-Rose Hill in the final two games by scores of 25-23 and 25-21.

The Tigers (3-1, 1-0 Super Six) travels to Hobbton on Thursday.

CLAYTON -- Beth Carter posted six kills in Charles B. Aycock's 25-17, 25-14 loss at Clayton on Wednesday.

The Golden Falcons (3-3) travel to Kinston today in Class 3-A Eastern Carolina Conference action.
