KINSTON -- The Kinston Indians scored eight runs in the bottom of the eighth to come from behind for an 8-1 victory over Potomac on Monday night in their regular season finale at Grainger Stadium.

The K-Tribe (34-29 second half, 81-52 overall) sent 13 men to the plate against the Nationals (27-36, 60-73) in the eighth, racking up five hits and four walks. A two-run single from Nathan Panther turned out to be the winning run. Eight of the nine batters in Kinston's lineup got a hit tonight, six drove in at least one run.

Scott Lewis picked up the no decision, throwing five shutout innings. He gave up just four hits and struck out four, lowering his earned run average to a league leading 1.52.

Scott Roehl (4-6) picked up the win after throwing three innings of relief.

Brett Reid (0-2) took the loss for Potomac.

The Indians will hit the road for the final seven games of the regular season, but return to Kinston for game two of their division playoff series on Thursday, Sept. 7 against the Salem Avalanche at 7 p.m.

Kinston welcomed 112,253 fans through the gates of Grainger Stadium this season, the most since 2001 and the second largest season total this decade.

Kinston heads to Winston-Salem for a four-game series starting today at 7 p.m. The K-Tribe will send newly acquired Shawn Nottingham (0-0, 0.00) to the mound.
