Hawks, Patriots battle to 3-3 draw

KINSTON -- Matthew Green tallied the game-tying goal in the 71st minute as Arendell-Parrott Academy and North Lenoir battled to a 3-3 draw Friday afternoon.
Tyler Smith scored two goals and C.C. Croom knocked in one goal for the Hawks.
North Lenoir (0-1-2) remained winless in three outings and plays host to Charles B. Aycock on Monday. Parrott (0-1-1) seeks its first win Tuesday afternoon against independent rival Wayne Country Day.

Warriors dump Hawks on the road
SNOW HILL -- Eastern Wayne dropped just four games in singles and doubles play combined, and dumped North Lenoir 9-0 on the Snow Hill Tennis Complex courts.
The Warriors, who were playing their season-opening match, received straight-set singles wins from Lauren Bynum, Mollie Musgrave, Casie Musgrave, Lyndsey Frederick, Nicole Fine and Elizabeth Borden.
Bynum and Fine each shut out their respective opponent.
Bynum- C. Musgrave, M. Musgrave-Frederick and Borden-Emily Northington each prevailed in doubles.
Eastern Wayne (1-0) entertains New Bern at 4 p.m. Monday on the Wayne Community College courts.
