WILMINGTON, Del. -- Kinston snapped a three-game losing streak with a 14-5 beating of Wilmington on Sunday afternoon.

Kinston pounded out 16 hits and scored five in the first, three in the third and six in the fifth. Jose Constanza, Argenis Reyes and John Drennen each had three hits for the K-Tribe while Brandon Pinckney and Jordan Brown had two.

The Indians jumped all over Wilmington starter Andrew Dobies in the first, with the first five batters in the lineup all scoring before the first out in the first inning. A two-run single by Brown and a three-run homer by Rodney Choy Foo did the damage. In the sixth inning, Kinston sent 11 batters to the plate, scoring five runs and putting the game away.

It was the 12th time this season that Kinston has scored more than 10 runs in a game.

Joe Ness (9-3) picked up his ninth victory of the season, the third highest win total in the Carolina League this year. Ness pitched six innings, giving up three hits and two earned runs. Ness struck out five batters while walking one.

Kinston opens up a six-game homestand today at 7 p.m. against Myrtle Beach, the Atlanta Braves' High-A affiliate. Scott Lewis will take the mound for the Indians.
