KINSTON -- The K-Tribe won a rain-shortened game 4-1 against Potomac at historic Grainger Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Two rain delays put a damper on things, but Kinston's bats stayed hot long enough to notch the win. Matt Whitney had an run-scoring single in the second inning, scoring Javi Herrera and putting the Indians up 1-0. Jordan Brown hit his team-leading 10th home run in the third inning, driving home Argenis Reyes to put Kinston up by two. Brown added another RBI in the fifth inning with a double that brought hom Brandon Pinckney.

Jensen Lewis (7-5) picked up his first win since May 17, giving up five hits and one earned run in five innings of work.

Michael Hinckley (5-7) took the loss for Potomac, giving up six hits and four earned runs.

Kinston takes off for a week-long road trip starting tonight in Frederick, Maryland. Chuck Lofgren, a 13-game winner, will take the mound for Kinston.
