KINSTON -- Chuck Lofgren won his minor league-leading 13th game of the season as the Kinston Indians doubled up Frederick 4-2 on Wednesday night at Grainger Stadium.

It was the fourth win in four starts for the 20-year-old left-hander, whose ERA is now 1.99, the second-best mark in the Carolina League.

Lofgren (13-3), who threw 5 2/3 innings of three-hit, no earned run baseball, got his run support in the bottom of the third with an RBI double from Jordan Brown that brought home Micah Schilling. Two batters later, Stephen Head hit his ninth home run of the season, a two-run shot to right field.

Brown would add some insurance in the ninth with an RBI single, again scoring Schilling.

Schilling went 2-for-4 with two runs scored for the K-Tribe. Brown was also 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

T.J. Burton picked up his 16th save of the season, while Kevin Hart (3-8) was hung with the loss for Frederick, giving up three earned runs on seven hits.

With the win, Kinston improved to 11-2 on the year against Frederick, and is now 61-34 overall and 14-11 in the second half of the season -- just one game behind first place Myrtle Beach in the Carolina League Southern Division.

Kinston finishes up the four-game series against Frederick today at 7 p.m. Joe Ness (8-3) takes the mound for the K-Tribe against Fredericks David Hahnel (1-6).
