K-Tribe improves to 10-1 against Frederick

KINSTON -- The Kinston Indians won their ninth-straight game against the Frederick Keys in a 10-3 triumph Monday night at historic Grainger Stadium.

Kinston improves its 2006 record to 10-1 this season against Frederick.

The K-Tribe batted around in the fourth inning, banging out five singles and plating four runs. After back to back RBIs by Argenis Reyes and Brandon Pinckney, Jordan Brown broke the game open with a two-run single of his own to make the score 6-1. Brian Barton added the finishing touches with a two RBI double in the eighth inning.

Barton was 4-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Brown went 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Matt Whitney, Reyes and Pinckney each had two hits to help Kinston bang out 13 on the night.

Kevin Dixon (6-2) picked up the win for the K-Tribe, giving up three earned runs while going a season high seven innings. Reid Santos and T.J. Burton each pitched a scoreless inning to secure the victory.

Craig Anderson (0-1) gave up nine hits and four earned runs in four innings of work for his first loss of the season.

Kinston plays game two of the four-game series in the midst of this seven game homestand tonight in Kinston. Jensen Lewis will take the mound for the K-Tribe at 7 p.m.
