Wayne Co. 10-U wins District title

Taylor Parker delivered two hits and Wayne County emerged victorious 5-3 against Greene County in the Babe Ruth 10U All-Star tournament championship game contested on the Grantham School diamond.
Wayne County clinched a berth in the state tournament, which begins play July 12 in Greenville.
Parker, Danielle Irvin and Amber Rose combined for the win on the mound.
Earlier in the district tournament, Wayne defeated Greene 9-2 as the same trio combined for the win. Parker, Smith and Katie Gay each had two hits in the victory.
