The Hershey's Track and Field event was held recently at the Goldsboro Middle School track.

Two hundred spectators and 60 young athletes participated in the event, which was hosted by the Goldsboro Parks and Recreation Department for the second straight year.

The first and second place finishers advanced to the upcoming regional in Greenville.

Rosewood 11, Fremont 2 -- Rosewood improved to 3-2 with Matt Neal striking out 12 and allowing six hits over six innings. Will Beasley, Eric Martel and Neal led Rosewood at the plate, while Fremont was led at the plate by Joey Parchman and Chris Steward with two hits each.
