Langston resigns from MOC

MOUNT OLIVE -- Crystal Langston is stepping down as head athletic trainer at Mount Olive, it was announced by director of athletics Jeff Eisen. Langston, who completed her fourth year at Mount Olive, is leaving to pursue other opportunities.

"I have lived in North Carolina my entire life and I am ready to experience new things and new places," said Langston, who is from Newton Grove. "I might stay in athletic training or I might enroll in physical therapy school. I want to look at everything that's out there. This is something I've thought about for quite a while and this seems like a good time in my life to try something new."

Langston was hired as an assistant trainer in the fall of 2002 and was promoted to head athletic trainer in December, 2003. Prior to coming to Mount Olive, she spent a year as a physical therapist technician at Wayne Memorial Hospital. Langston is a graduate of Barton College.

"Crystal has been a very valuable member of the Mount Olive athletics program and has been a major contributor to our success," said Eisen. "She has shown great dedication to the student-athletes and coaches. We are thankful for her service to the college and wish her the best in her future endeavors."

Langston expressed her appreciation for Mount Olive College.

"This has been a great experience for me and I'm grateful for the opportunity," said Langston. "There are many people here that I'm going to miss. I've learned a lot about myself since I've been at Mount Olive and I feel like I'm a better person for my experience here."
