SALEM, Va. -- The K-Tribe stranded 11 men on base as their hot bats cooled off a bit, losing to Salem 6-1 on Tuesday night.

Salem touched up starter Jensen Lewis for four runs in the first inning, including two home runs. Lewis, the Carolina League leader in wins with six, suffered his first loss in a month; bringing his record to 6-3.

The K-Tribe got their only run in the third inning, when Brian Finegan singled home Micah Schilling.

The K-Tribe is now 4-1 on this six game road trip and will end the trip tonight at Salem, with left-hander Chuck Lofgren taking the mound. The Indians will then return to Kinston on Thursday, opening up a four-game series with second place Winston-Salem.

The K-Tribe is now 16-6 in the month of May, having won 14 of their last 18 games. The Indians have the second-best record in all of Minor League Baseball.
