Snow Hill sweeps pair from Chapel Hill

SNOW HILL -- Snow Hill's Lance Murray finished with five hits in Post 94's season-opening doubleheader sweep over Chapel Hill Post 6 on Sunday.
Murray finished with three hits -- including a grand slam -- in Snow Hill's 17-3 win in game one, then posted two hits as Post 94 claimed game two, 10-5.
Jordan Corbett (3-4), Hunter Chase (3-4) Craven Taylor (2-4) and Matthew Whitley (2-4) also had big offensive outings in game one for Snow Hill, while Tyler Chase contributed two hits in game two.
Post 94, who finished with 26 hits in the two games, broke open both seven-inning contests with a pair of nine-run, sixth innings.
Drew Sowers got the win in game one as Tommy Cobb picked up the victory in game two.
Snow Hill (2-0) travels to Ahoskie on Saturday, before hosting Wilson on Sunday.

WILSON -- Snow Hill's Michael Speedy and Robert Tyndall had one hit each for Post 94 in a 6-0 loss at Wilson on Sunday.
Speedy endured the loss for Snow Hill (0-1), which hosts West Craven on May 30.
Michael Brown and Jerome Richardson paced Wilson at the plate with two hits each, while Justin Nygard got the win.
