KINSTON -- The Kinston Indians pitchers put it on Potomac on Tuesday night, sweeping a doubleheader with a pair of 6-0 shutout victories.

It was the third and fourth shutouts of the year for the K-Tribe pitching staff.

The first game of the day was a continuation of a rain-suspended game from Monday night, with the K-Tribe batting with a runner on in the bottom of the third inning. With two outs and Matt Whitney on second, Brian Finegan hit his second home run of the year, making the score 2-0.

Finegan would score again in the fifth, thanks to an RBI single by Michael Aubrey.

The K-Tribe banged out 10 hits in the game, including a 3-for-4 performance by Jordan Brown.

Scott Lewis (1-1) picked up his first win of the season, pitching 42/3 innings giving up just one hit, while striking out nine batters. His ERA now dips to a league-low 0.66. Scott Roehl came in to pitch the final inning and change, while not giving up a hit.

In the nightcap, another shutout by the same score, 6-0, came thanks to the pitching performance of Aaron Laffey.

Laffey (3-1) picked up the win going the distance in the seven-inning contest, giving up five hits while striking out a season-high five batters. Laffey got all the run support he would need in the second inning, when Ryan Goleski led of the second inning with a solo home run, over the batter's eye in center field. The 400-plus foot shot was his sixth homer of the season. Goleski is hitting over .500 in his last nine games.

Jordan Brown followed two batters later with a two-run homer, his first of the year.

It was the third doubleheader the K-Tribe has swept this season.

They'll get a chance at another double-dip win today when the K-Tribe takes on Potomac for a pair of seven-inning games starting at p.m. in Kinston. Jensen Lewis takes the mound for the K-Tribe in Game 1.
