Mount Olive moved up one spot to No. 27 in this week's Collegiate Baseball Division II Top 30. The Trojans have been ranked in the top 30 in each of the last four weeks. Mount Olive is also ranked No. 5 in the NCAA II South Atlantic Region.

Mount Olive (39-14) captured its seventh Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference championship and earned an automatic berth in the South Atlantic Regional of the 2006 NCAA Division II Baseball Championship. This year marks the first year the CVAC champion has earned an automatic bid.

Mount Olive collected 44 points in this week's poll, finishing 20 points behind No. 26 Delta State (Miss.) and 16 points ahead of three teams tied at No. 28 -- Florida Gulf Coast, Mesa State (Colo.) and Northern Kentucky.

Georgia College and State and Tampa (Fla.) hold down the top two spots for the third consecutive week. Georgia College and State and Mount Olive are among six South Atlantic Region teams ranked in this week's top 25, joining No. 5 Francis Marion (S.C.), No. 15 Columbus State (Ga.), No. 16 USC-Aiken and No. 23 Armstrong Atlantic State (Ga.).

Pairings and sites for the NCAA II Baseball Championship are expected to be announced Sunday. The South Atlantic Regional takes place May 18-21.
