LYNCHBURG, Va. -- The Kinston Indians won their second game in a row, defeating Lynchburg 7-3 Tuesday night at City Stadium.

Brian Barton got the scoring started with a two-run double in the first, scoring Brian Finegan and Trevor Crowe. Barton finished 2-for-3 from the plate in the game, extended his hitting streak to 12 games, the longest hitting streak in the Carolina League this season. Jordan Brown scored on an Argenis Reyes fielder's choice in the second inning to make the score 3-0.

The K-Tribe added another run in the third inning as Trevor Crowe scored on a sacrifice fly from Wyatt Toregas, making the score 4-0. The Tribe would add two more in the fifth inning when Stephen Head double to the wall scored Crowe. Head would later score after a bases-loaded walk to Micah Schilling brought him in. Argenis Reyes would single to lead of the eighth inning and later score on a Head sacrifice fly. The Reyes hit, his only of the game, extended his hitting streak to 11 games.

The fast start was all the K-Tribe needed as 20-year-old left hander Chuck Lofgren (4-1) notched his fourth win of the season, going five innings and allowing three runs and six hits.

The two teams will meet again today at 7:05 p.m. for game three of the four-game series.

Joe Ness (2-0) will take the mound for the Indians.
