Wayne County Men's Amateur - Registration ongoing now

The 2006 Wayne County Men's Amateur Golf Championship is slated to begin on June 2 at Lane Tree Golf Club. The second day of the event will be held at Goldsboro Municipal Golf Course on June 3, then the final round of competition will take place at Walnut Creek Country Club on June 4.
The WCMA is a 3-day, 54-hole stroke play tournament that features players of all abilities from Wayne County. Competitors are flighted after the second round of play. The tournament is open to any male, age 18 or older, who is either a legal resident of Wayne County or a member of a golf club or course in Wayne County.
Players compete in three age divisions. The Open Division is open to players 18 years or older, the Senior Division is open to ages 50-59 and the Super Senior Division is for ages 60 and older. All three division champions from 2005 will return to defend their titles -- John Newsome (Super Senior), Bill Brewer (Senior) and Jonathan Burke (Open). Brewer is seeking is third straight Senior crown, while Burke is the youngest champion in tournament history.
Entry forms for the tournament are available at all area golf courses or on the tournament website at http://www.wcmagolf.com. The registration fee is $100, which includes the tournament rounds and a practice round at each of the three courses. The deadline for entering is May 19.
The title sponsor is Andy's Cheesesteaks and Cheeseburgers, the Corporate Sponsor is Coca Cola, and the Associate Sponsor is Webpickle.
