WILMINGTON, Del. -- A bases-loaded double in the top of the 13th inning by Kinston's Jordan Brown broke a 3-3 tie and pushed the K-Tribe to a 5-3 victory over the Wilmington Blue Rocks on Tuesday night.

Scott Roehl (2-0) picked up the win, pitching three solid innings of relief as the fifth K-Tribe pitcher used in the game.

Kinston broke a scoreless tie in the sixth inning when Brian Finegan singled home Micah Schilling with one out in the inning. Stephen Head followed two batters later with a big two RBI single scoring Finegan and Argenis Reyes.

The Blue Rocks came back, thanks to two errors by the K-Tribe in the sixth, to cut the Indians lead to 3-2.

A Blue Rock RBI double by Jacoby Ellsbury in the seventh inning tied the score at three.

The score would remain tied until Brown's game-winning double in the top of the 13th.

The Indians move to 9-3 with the win, now three games ahead of the Winston-Salem Warthogs for first place in the Carolina League Southern Division.

The game took more than four hours -- both teams used five pitchers each.

The two teams will finish the three-game series today at 6:35 p.m.
