The Kinston Indians used strong pitching performances by starter Joe Ness and reliever Scott Roehl as the K-Tribe won their fourth straight game Tuesday night at Grainger Stadium.

Roehl (1-0), picked up his first win of the season in the 4-3 victory over the Blue Rocks. Ness looked good in his Carolina League debut, striking out eight batters in four innings of work.

Micah Schilling got the Tribe going in the second inning with a triple off Wilmington starter Luis Mendoza (1-1). Schilling would score two batters latter on a wild pitch to make the score 1-0. With the score tied at 1 in the third, Schilling would score again on an RBI single by Argenis Reyes.

Ryan Goleski's sacrifice fly in the fifth inning scored Stephen Head, putting the K-Tribe up 3-1. Trevor Crowe knocked in his team leading seventh run of the year with a two out single, scoring Brian Finegan in the seventh and giving Kinston the insurance run they needed to go on to the 4-3 victory.

Kyle Collins picked up his first save of the year for Kinston.

The K-Tribe is now all alone in first place in the Carolina League South Division. Kinston and Wilmington will meet tomorrow at 7 p.m. for game three of the series. Sean Smith is schedule to start for Kinston.
