WILSON -- Wayne Country Day's Sam Steed provided three hits and drove in one run in the Chargers' 7-4 win over Bear Grass on Saturday at Fleming Stadium.

Cameron Ford and Kyle Pender added two hits each for WCDS (2-0), while Byron Bryan drove in two runs and Kevin Herring tallied one RBI.

Travis Davis yielded just one hit and no runs with six strikeouts against two walks in three innings of work. Kevin Herring picked up the save, throwing a perfect, 2/3 inning.

The Chargers return to action on Tuesday at Parrott Academy in Kinston at 3:30 p.m.

PIKEVILLE -- Charles B. Aycock's Zach Wright went 4-for-4 with a home run in the Golden Falcons' 18-4 win at home over Greene Central in five innings on Friday.

Jordan Carr added three extra base hits for Aycock (4-1), while Stephen Strouse contributed three hits and Will Edgerton and Jackson Wooten added two hits each.

Bryant Hill picked up the win on the mound for the Falcons -- yielding no earned runs and only three hits with three strikeouts in five innings of work.

Aycock returns to action on Tuesday at North Johnston.
